Raffaele de Courten co-founded Alto Partners in 2000 and serves as a
Managing Director and Partner. In addition to supervising Alto Partners’ activities, he focuses on deal origination, debt structuring, fundraising and investors relations. Prior to founding Alto Partners, he was employed from 1998 to 2000 at the European Investment Bank in
Luxembourg as counsel of the Italian Executive Vice President. From 987 to 1998, he was a Senior Manager of the corporate finance division at Mediobanca in Milano with responsibilities for the debt capital markets and structured products operations. Raffaele de Courten
graduated in Business Administration from LUISS University in Rome. He was member of AIFI’s board of directors from 2010 to 2015, Chairman of its mid-market Commission from 2013 to 2015 and member of its Guarantee Committee from 2014 to 2021.

Professor Oliver Gottschalg is part of the Strategy Department at HEC School of Management, Paris. He holds a Wirtschaftsingenieur Diploma from the University of Karlsruhe, an MBA from Georgia State University and a M.Sc. and PhD degree from INSEAD. His current research focuses on the strategic logic and the performance determinants of private equity investments. His work has been published in leading academic journals and in various publications for practitioners and was featured over 100 times in the business media (press, radio, TV and online) in the past 2 years. His book on ‘Private Equity Mathematics’ is one of the bestselling books with PEI Media. He regularly presents his research at academic conferences and private equity symposia and serves as an advisor to leading investors in the private equity industry. He repeatedly served as an advisor to policy makers at the national and European level in the context of the ongoing debate about a possible need for regulation of the Private Equity industry. His company Gottschalg Analytics is the leading provider of standardized independent PE Track record analytics and validation services, currently advising approx. 20% of the market of fundraising PE Fund Manager worldwide.

Louis has over two decades of Private Equity experience from both sides of the PPM. He founded CORNERSTONE in 2017 after a long career in Private Equity.

Louis served as a senior member of the original fund of funds team of EURAZEO Investment Manager (when fka AGF Private Equity/ Idinvest Partners), then at J.P. Morgan and 3i where he led the successful fundraising of 3i Growth Capital Fund which closed on €1.2 billion in 2010. He also was Advising Partner to Access Capital Partners, leading business development in North America.

Louis holds a First Class Honours degree in Finance from the European Business School in Paris (EBS Paris).

Louis is also a keen Open Water Swimmer having completed several long distance crossings which like fundraising is about showing grit and character to “get things done!”

Thomas H. McComb, Managing Director, is a founding member of the Private Equity Group. Mr. McComb joined J.P. Morgan in 1999, prior to which he spent six years with AT&T Investment Management Corp. managing private equity assets. Additionally, he worked at NationsBanc Montgomery Securities as a private equity fund placement agent. Mr. McComb is a CFA charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute and has completed the Series 7 and 63 licenses. He holds a BS from Virginia Tech and an MS from Purdue University, each in Engineering, and an MBA from the University of Chicago. Currently, Mr. McComb serves on numerous private equity fund advisory committees.
